After narrowly missing a No. 1 U.K. debut last week, Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia (Warner Records) climbs to the top of the new Official Charts Company survey.
Future Nostalgia is Dua Lipa's first No. 1 in her homeland, after her self-titled debut peaked at No. 3 in 2018. The new release finishes 7,000 combined units ahead of Lewis Capaldi's Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent (EMI/Universal), which jumps back 5-2. The Weekend's After Hours moves back 4-3.
Harry Styles' Fine Line (Columbia/Sony) and Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (Interscope/Universal) are also on the way back up, 9-4 and 8-5 respectively.
The death of Bill Withers prompts his highest-ever U.K. album chart placing, as The Ultimate Collection (Sony Music CG) re-enters at No. 10. The retrospective previous reached No. 41 in 2017. The previous best for Withers, whose critical reputation often ran ahead of his U.K. album sales, was No. 27 for Menagerie in 1978.
Last week's new entry in the top spot, 5 Seconds of Summer's Calm (Interscope/Universal), is down to No. 17. On the compilation chart, the Frozen 2 soundtrack (Walt Disney/Universal) wins a third consecutive, and ninth aggregate, week at No. 1.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd's “Blinding Lights” (XO/Republic/Universal) has its best week to date to begin a seventh non-consecutive week atop the singles chart.
“Blinding Lights” records another 80,000 combined units, including 8.6 million streams, to continue its singles reign. Drake's “Toosie Slide” (OVO/Republic/Universal) debuts at No. 2 to become his 19th U.K. top ten single. Saint Jhn's former No. 1 “Roses” (B1/HITCO/ Ministry of Sound) is down 2-3.
Dua Lipa's “Physical” and “Don't Start Now” are down a place each at Nos. 4 and 5, and her “Break My Heart” 6-7, as she lands three top ten tracks for the second week in a row. “Death Bed” (Robots & Humans/RCA/Sony) climbs 14-8 for Powfu featuring Beabadoobee.
