They know they're cute! Elton John and Lizzo excitedly greeted each other via video chat during the live iHeart Living Room Concert for America on Sunday (March 29) from their respective homes.
While host John was wearing a more subdued pair of rose-colored glasses with his royal blue suit jacket and shirt, the "Truth Hurts" songstress brought a little extra glam when she signed on.
"Helloooo!" she screamed while sporting a pair of oversized rhinestone sunglasses that would've been right at home on the legendary performer's face. "Hiii, Elton! You like my glasses?"
The two then went on to gush about their admiration for each other.
"It's been an amazing year and a half for you, and I'm so thrilled for you because I adore what you do," the host told Lizzo, who won three Grammys in 2019. "You're so authentic; you just go out there and do it. You bring people together ... I'm so proud of you."
"You really got a point about bringing people together. As artists, we're able to do that even when you can't physically be there," said the songstress, referring to all the people who are in self-isolation as the coronavirus pandemic sweeps the globe. "Your music has been with me my entire life. You always brought me closer to my family. I think we can learn from that and continue to bring people together through music ... and through connecting through our social media, like you calling me. Heeeey!"
"Yours does to me too. When anything goes wrong in my life, I just blame it on my juice, heeeey! I got to blame it on my juice!" John said, singing a few bars of Lizzo's hit, "Juice." "You're an inspiration."
Before signing off, Lizzo reminded viewers that everyone needs to stick together during this difficult time. "We cannot let this tear us apart. The social distancing is something we're doing for our health, but we also have to come together as a people," she urged. "This is a very real pandemic. ... We cannot let the fear spread faster than the virus. We have to let the love spread."
The live concert was organized not only to entertain viewers at home with musical performances and messages from artists and celebrities, but also to raise funds for non-profits Feeding America and the First Responders Children's Foundation.
