Flora Cash Explore the Ugly Sides of an Unhealthy Relationship With Heart-Wrenching New Track

Indie-pop act Flora Cash unveiled the lyric video for their new single "Honey Go Home" on Friday (Feb. 14) exclusively via Billboard, and it's quite the blue Valentine.

In the animated visual, Shpresa Lleshaj and Cole Randall trade verses as they wade through an increasingly toxic, codependent relationship, from which neither can seem to escape.

"Why do you come my way/ Honey drop this if you won't stay/ Say it if it's dead and gone and/ Honey go home/ Why did you come back here/ Honey drop this, go your own way/ Put it in a frame and hang it and/ Honey go home," the bandmates -- who are also husband and wife -- croon as they each beg the other to leave.

“The song and the video represent different experiences we've had in relationships -- ours with each other, as well as previous relationships we've been in," the pair tells Billboard, "Where each person kind of enables the bad habits of the other, but is also desperately trying to help their partner change those habits."

They add, "Ultimately, the song is about two people who can't let what seems to be an unhealthy relationship die, because they've created unhealthy dependencies and have shared so much of themselves with each other. There is genuine love beneath the surface, but it's hard to manifest that love in a healthy way. It's a scenario we've both experienced.”

"Honey Go Home" is the Swedish-American duo's latest release in the lead-up to their forthcoming sophomore studio album Baby, It's Okay, due March 6 via BEE & EI/RCA Records. The track follows fellow singles "You Love Me," "Missing Home" and "They Own This Town," as well as the band's 2019 EP Press.
