Graduation Speech, the solo project of Aspiga frontman Kevin Day, will release his fourth EP, Controlled Burn, on May 13 via Jetsam-Flotsam (pre-order), and we're premiering new single "Destined." Kevin cites emo/punk singer/songwriters like Matt Pryor, John K Samson, and Dashboard Confessional as reference points, and you can definitely hear that coming through in this tender, lovely new acoustic guitar/piano song.
"'Destined' is about wrestling with mortality," Kevin tells us. "It's about looking at a picture of distant relatives and realizing that you know nothing about them or their stories. Will the same thing happen to you or will some part of your story live on." Listen below.
