Not trying to tell you how to do your job, but that piano's full of water.
Harry Styles is, literally, drowning in sorrow in the new video for his Fine Line ballad "Falling." The Dave Meyers-directed clip is short on action, but heavy on drama as it finds Styles playing the sad song at a piano that is rapidly filling with water until the torrent eventually overtakes the singer completely. Wearing a gauzy blue blouse and salmon-colored trousers, Styles starts the action lying on his back soaking wet on the floor in a seeming flashback to the aftermath of his waterlogged catharsis.
Quick cut to the singer at the piano, emoting his way through the song about heartbreak and obsession as the baroque music room starts to fill with the water spilling from the instrument. All the while, Styles keeps playing through the deluge. Even as chairs and paintings float by, Styles sings, "And I get the feeling that you'll never need me again," just as the waves lap over his head and he appears suspended in his anguish.
His shirt floating around him like a jellyfish, Styles can't stop thinking about how he's falling again as the camera zooms in on his blank face. Styles and Meyers previously collaborated on the magical "Adore You" video. Styles, who played a set to a sea of adoring, screaming fans on the Today show on Wednesday morning, is slated to kick off his Love On Tour outing in April.
