Kanye West compares backlash for his Trump support to racial profiling

Kanye West has said the response he has drawn for his vocal support President Donald Trump and wearing a Make America Great Again cap reminds him racial priling.

He made the comments in a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, in which he affirmed he is still a Trump supporter, amid the increasing levels criticism the US President is facing for his response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Kanye said: “It reminded me how I felt as a black guy before I was famous, when I would walk in a restaurant and people would look at you like you were going to steal something.‘This is your place, Ye, don’t talk about apparel. This is your place, Ye, you’re black, so you’re a Democrat.’”

He also talked about the role he played in working with Trump to ensure A$AP Rocky was freed from Swedish custody last year.
