Lionsgate announces 'Garth Brooks: The Road I'm On' DVD | The Music Universe

Four part documentary series is part of A&E’s Biography

Lionsgate has set Garth Brooks: The Road I’m On for DVD on May 5th, under exclusive license from A&E TV. The documentary offers an intimate look at the moments that have defined Brooks’ life and expansive career. Following the GRAMMY Award winner both in his hometown and on tour, Garth Brooks: The Road I’m On explores Brooks’ rise to fame and some of his personal struggles along the way, and features in-depth interviews with Brooks, singers Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban, as well as commentary from iconic artists George Strait, Billy Joel, and James Taylor, and personal family and friends.

“If I was ever going to do a documentary on my life and music, I wanted A&E to do it,” Brooks shared during the A&E Networks Upfronts last year. “They have interviewed all the people who would know what the true stories are, so no matter how this turns out … I can’t say it isn’t the truth.”

Garth Brooks, the best-selling solo artist of all time, is celebrated in this definitive documentary from the award-winning A&E Biography franchise that offers an intimate look into Brooks’ life as a musician, father, and man. Garth Brooks: The Road I’m On will delight fans with seminal hit songs and the unforgettable moments that have defined his decade-spanning career.

The two part, four hour docu-series, which premiered over two nights in December on A&E, unprecedented behind-the-scenes access from Brooks’ record-setting stadium tour that launched last year with a sold out show in St. Louis. The seven-time CMA Entertainer of the Year winner takes fans into his personal life and behind the scenes of his career where cameras have never gone before, including his Goodlettsville, TN farm and a recording session.

The DVD edition clocks in at 129 minutes and is presented in 16×9 (1:78) with English 2.0 Dolby Digital Audio. No Blu-ray has been announced at this time.
