Are you so happy you could die? I’m not sure how I’m feeling, but Porches certainly is.
New York-native, Aaron Maine, formed his musical project, Porches, back in 2010 and has been releasing synth-pop tracks ever since, including this song from their latest full-length album, Ricky Music.
Porches uses a diverse collection of instruments that aren’t the typical go-tos. Listen closely and you’ll hear a cowbell snaking through. (Can you name another song that leans so much on the cowbell of all percussion instruments? None are coming to my mind.) Their heavy use of drums also creates an unusual but wavy sound.
Something about the song makes me want to calmly sway along with them while Maine glides above each high note. So if nothing else, I hope this song encourages you to also dance happily.
