Plus, Billie Eilish finds a new way to Bond with fans, and more.

Welcome to the This Week in Billboard News podcast, where Jordyn Rolling, Billboard News host, and Gary Trust, Billboard senior director of charts, dive into the week's biggest music news stories.

This week, Selena Gomez shares exclusive insights about her new album, Rare, having recently chatted with Billboard senior director of music, Jason Lipshutz. Of the set's "Lose You to Love Me," her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, she muses, "When I wrote the song, I was kind of a mess. It was really difficult. By the time we shot the music video at the end of the year, it had a completely different meaning, and it was so freeing. It was actually fun for me, I think because I let go.

"I couldn't have asked for a better way to close a chapter in my life."

Jordyn and Gary also cover Billie Eilish's forthcoming James Bond theme song; this year's contenders for the best original song Oscar; upcoming Grammy Awards performers; the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 2020 inductees; the most anticipated band reunions this year; and, this week's biggest chart news, covering Roddy Ricch, Justin Bieber, Lady Antebellum and more.

Also joining this week are Billboard staffers Lyndsey Havens, Joe Lynch and Melinda Newman, as well as Atlantic Records senior vp of pop and rhythmic promotion John McMann, who discusses Roddy Ricch's ascent to No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200.
