Sony announces innovative technology in Playstation 5 controllers

Sony has announced new updates for the Playstation 5, launching Holiday 2020, that will enhance the gaming experience.

This new powerful simulation experience is due to two key innovations - haptic technology and adaptive triggers. Haptic technology allows the controllers to have a broader range feedback, rather than the one-dimensional "rumble" feedback, “so crashing into a wall in a race car feels much different than making a tackle on the football field" says Jim Ryan, Sony Interactive Entertainment President & CEO.

The adaptive L2/R2 triggers give varying sensations resistance when completing different tasks. This way, "the tactile sensation drawing a bow and arrow," feels distinctive from "accelerating an f-road vehicle through rocky terrain." These new innovations elevate the gaming experience by manipulating sense touch and allowing for a range sensitivity.

These updates come after Sony noticeably skipped the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year at which Microst announced their upcoming plans for a new console.
