Indie electro artist, YATES, was first featured on Indie Shuffle in 2016 with "MERCURY" from his debut EP, Mercury. Fast forward four years and he has finally made a return to our front pages; two of three songs from his most recent project, 0/1. Jason reviewed the EP's leading single, "Digital Karma," back in April and it saw a flourish of listens and favorites, not to our surprise.
"End of an Era" is Berlin-based YATES' favorite track off of the EP and I think it's mine as well. The vocals remind me of those from Nick Murphy; silky smooth and capable of holding their own amongst a strong electronic instrumental. Despite the minimalist foundation, this song is far from simple, and offers a unique twist on the conventional dance music style. Enjoy!
